Hugging, kissing, cuddling, Netflix and chilling … these are all amazing stress relievers. Personal connection (actual physical contact) is so much more important than we often realize.
I have always been a proponent of close human connection. We need it. In fact, I have been a hugger my entire life. And yet, I was 38 years old before I actually received my first real hug!
(And by real, I mean the hug where you actually hold each other close and tight and strong and truly mean it.)
What I noticed, after I got past the weirdness (which was just my own mind judging myself and the situation, anyway, so “Shut it, mind!”), is how amazingly good it feels. If you’ve never hugged someone like this, I challenge you to this experience.
You can thank me later.
GIVE SOMEONE A HUG. A REAL HUG. SHUT YOUR EYES AND HOLD THEM TIGHT AND LONG. LET IT GET WEIRD.
Love + (real) Hugs,
